About Stephen Bartholomew
Born in 1958, educated in public and private schools in Utah. While still in college Stephen’s work attracted the attention of art collectors, including The Springville Art Museum, The State of Utah, Southern Utah University, Brigham Young University, Salt Lake County. Now his work is represented in many corporate and private collections. Stephen paintings have been featured in well over a hundred juried, curated and invitational exhibits. Stephen excels in his ability to paint all subject matter: landscape, still life, and figurative works. However, his love of the landscape dominates his work. Stephen makes his home in the mountains and deserts of Utah, which are more often than not the subjects of his work. Stephen enjoys working “en plein air” as well as in the studio. He find the plein air work to be very rewarding as well as a great challenge. Stephen enjoys sharing his knowledge of painting and art with young people. In his role as an educator he has extensive experience with students at both the high school and university level teaching painting, drawing and photography.
